All of the residents of this unique township have the right to know what decisions their elected officials are making on their behalf. Joyfield Residents for Accountable Government have taken it upon themselves to established this blog. It will give residents who choose to use technology, a location to find information about township business, until the Joyfield Township Government develops a website of their own.

Proposed Zoning Map-

At the meeting of the Joyfield Planning Commission last night, John from Beckett & Raeder presented this never before tried and trend setting idea of zoning in Joyfield township to preserve the rural character.   While the model is Joyfield Road, all roads in the township will, if the JPC goes forward with this, will have land use set back regulations.  We believe the idea of this is to prevent building close to the road which would affect the scenic and rural character of the township.   There is video of this meeting. The picture is a bit uneven, because the handout was too large to fit into a regular picture, used a panoramic setting so it could be posted as a whole picture.

Planning Commission Minutes from January 15th Meeting.

The Joyfield Planning Commission does not make their minutes readily available for public inspection.  They've refused requests for these minutes to be emailed to requesters.  They do not post them on the Town Hall Door.  An informal request to receive them, with an offer of payment for copy costs, has been sketchy and ignored, for the most part.  A FOIA request/subscription for JPC minutes may be the next move to make.   Here's a rare glimpse of a set of JPC minutes.   RFP is REQUEST for PROPOSAL.  This is regarding hiring a consultant to begin the zoning process.

Planning Commission- Agenda of Meeting 1-15-2015

Betsy wrote a RFP(request for proposal) to send to companies who write zoning ordinances professionally, to help Joyfield PC with their Zoning Ordinance.  A suggestion made during Public Input was that since Joyfield is similar to Colfax & Weldon, looking at their new Zoning Ordinance might be helpful.  The PC did not appear to be open to that suggestion
