A blog created by a group of Joyfield residents to keep other interested Joyfield residents informed of Joyfield Township Government decisions and actions.
All of the residents of this unique township have the right to know what decisions their elected officials are making on their behalf. Joyfield Residents for Accountable Government have taken it upon themselves to established this blog. It will give residents who choose to use technology, a location to find information about township business, until the Joyfield Township Government develops a website of their own.

Township meeting videos
Video recording township meetings began for three reasons:
1) It appeared the Board and Planning Commission were not going to be as open and transparent as they had demanded the previous board to be.
2) It appears the Board is doing business outside the venue of a public meeting and coming to meetings with decisions already made.
3) People simply uninterested in attending meetings in person, may be interested in watching from the comforts of home.

Template Ordinances & Reports
The Lakes to Land website: www.lakestoland.org continues to be active and changing.
You will find new Reports and Sample Ordinances there. Most of the Master Plans are complete and have been adopted, and the Initiative is moving into zoning directly, starting with zoning assessment and recommendation.
Have a fine day!
ALSO! In the Board of Commissioner minutes, it was written that Frankfort Fire Dept. won't be "taking over Joyfield township". It's been heard in another venue that Joyfield township is "too Far" to go.
If that's the case, watch for a proposal for a fire millage. It was understood the township board was going to switch fire contracts from Benzonia Twp to the City of Frankfort to save money.
They are looking for money to put toward zoning. Zoning costs money to- write, review, and implement.
